I come from the city of Milwaukee, the largest city in the state of Wisconsin. Milwaukee is a city of festivals; we spend all summer on the lakefront listening to music, drinking and eating our way through festivals celebrating the many cultural communities present in the city. One of the reasons we do this is because we have some of the worst winters in the country and we take advantage of every moment that we can spend outside in the sun!
If it's football season and it's Sunday, you know where to find me. Since I've moved to France, it's definitely been more difficult to watch my beloved Green Bay Packers. But despite a seven-hour time difference, I didn't miss a single game this past year. The three years I've been living here have resulted in two trips to the NFC Championship game. Next year, we're taking it all!
The reason I decided to come to France in the first place is because I had a strong desire to travel abroad, to see new places, meet new people and always keep continuing to challenge myself. Learning to speak French has been one of the most frustrating and rewarding things I've done.
Other than France, I've been able to travel around a large part of western Europe (Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, UK), taking in great experiences with friends and creating memories to last a lifetime. The desire to try new things is central to who I am and what motivates me.
